Everyone arrived as a fantastic Roald Dahl character and had a grand fashion parade to show off all the marvellous costumes.

There were lots of Matildas, Willy Wonkas, Grand High Witches and even a golden ticket.

Various activities took place including creating your own “Revolting Rhyme”, inventing mixed-up words and lots of word searches.

A book swop also took place when you put your book into the library and took a different book home.

Class 3/4 held some game stalls. £1 to play five games for a chance of winning a prize.

The games included “Pin the ear on the BFG”, “Guess the weight of the cake” and “Shoot the Dahl villains”.

They were hard to guess but fun to play.

Pupil Anna Riddell, 9, said: “They were such amazing costumes. Amazingly fun day and lots of enjoyment.”

At the end of the day, all pupils and staff went home exhausted but happy because they had raised more than £200 for the Roald Dahl charity.
