Aberdeenshire house prices rise

The average value of a property in Aberdeenshire has risen 0.2% between January and March this year compared to the same period in 2012.

Data from the Registrars of Scotland show the average price of a home in the ‘Shire rose from £199,276 in the period of January to March 2012 to £199,743 in the same period this year.

‘Shire house prices are still far higher than the Scottish average of £148,174.

The only regions in the country with higher average house prices are East Renfrewshire (£212,129), East Dunbartonshire (£209,542) and the city of Edinburgh (£204,780).

Aberdeen City had average prices of £178,127, down from £180,508 the in the same period last year.

The lowest prices were to be found in North Ayrshire (£98,252) and West Dunbartonshire (£100,780).

821 houses were sold in Aberdeenshire between January and March this year.
