Sande is still selling strongly as Donside singer Emeli Sande’s debut album “Our Version of Events” has entered it’s incredible 61st week in the album charts, and is even up from number seven to four.
The monster album by the former Alford Academy pupil has become 2013’s biggest seller despite selling 1.4 million copies in it’s release year of 2012.
Emeli received a publicity boost last year from performing at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the London Olympic Games.
The second biggest seller of 2013 was the recording of Les Miserables by the film cast, followed by Now That’s What I Call Music 84 and the self titled debut of indie singer-songwriter Jake Bugg.
October 2012 saw the re-release of Em’s album which included a cover of John Lennon’s Imagine.
