Fresh from the success of this year’s bonfire and fireworks spectacular, Banchory Round Table are on the lookout for new members.

The group, which is open to men aged 18-45, is offering a free pie and a pint at their next meeting at Banchory Lodge Hotel.

The offer is open to a maximum of 20 eligible men, who are interested in finding out more about Round Table.

Meeting at the newly-refurbished bar next Thursday, November 20, this informal night will provide an insight into what makes Banchory Round Table one of the most successful in the country.

The pie and pint night will continue a busy month for the guys in the community with a St Andrew’s Ceilidh at Torphins on Saturday, November 29, a charity quiz at the Banchory Lodge Hotel on Monday, December 1 - as part of ITV’s Text Santa launch - and the annual Christmas tree sale in the High Street on Saturday, December 6.

Chairman Dan Broadhead said: “November and December are busy months in our calendar, however seeing the excitement on the children’s faces at this year’s fireworks gives you a thoroughly rewarding feeling.

“Not only that, we raised over £10,000 for local charities and good causes in the process! We wouldn’t be able to do this without the support of our great sponsors and the kind donations of the public on the evening.

“This year in particular we are busier than normal with our new upcoming open evening and the Big Text Santa Quiz with ITV, but I have a great bunch of guys around me and I know they will be fantastic events.

“So far, 2014 has been a great year for us - having seen strong membership growth - and my aim is to continue this trend to make Banchory one of the strongest Tables in the UK. The one message that I would like people to take away with them is that we are open for membership!

“I have to stress, it’s not all work and no play as we’ve got some great social events lined up for next year! We’ve even got some new exciting community events in the pipeline! To find out more, come along to our open evening and check out our Facebook page.”
