A Donside art student will see their work imortalised after it was bought by his University for a permanent collection.
Former Westhill Academy pupil Michael Ridley (21), who recently graduated with a BDes (Hons) in Graphic Design from Gray’s School of Art at RGU, was among 11 students whose work was deemed to be of such a high quality that the university wished to retain it in its collections for future years.
Each of the students receivieved a certificate and a prize of £500.
Michael took a novel approach to presenting his work at Gray’s annual degree show, locating it within a shed to provide a quiet haven for people to consider
what they had seen.
Michael said: “The shed itself was a metaphor for how we manoeuvre through degree shows or galleries...”
