A former training college for Roman Catholic priests in Deeside could be turned into a hotel under ambitious new plans.
The former Blairs College outside Maryculter could prove the answer to home-seekers prayers as a total of 280 houses are planned in the £115 million bid.
Also included in the plans are an equestrian centre and a golf course.
The group behind the proposal, the Muir Group, said in an online document entitled: ‘Regeneration and Renewal of Blair College’ that it would prove a major tourist, golfing and housing boost to the area.
The plan which would last ten years according to the group.
They added: “Over the ten-year period of the development, capital investment will be £115million, or £11.5million a year. This level of expenditure would support an average of 212 full time equivalent jobs for the duration of the project.”
The Victorian college was a seminary between 1829 until 1986. Disgraced Cardinal Keith O’Brien served as college rector from 1980 until 1985.
