A Donside charity group has raised over £3000 for a dementia research charity by holding a murder mystery evening last month.

The Dunecht Charity Fundraisers, which is run by Morag Gauld of Dunecht 4x4 Garage and Norah Nesland of Jaffs Bar and Restaurant, presented a cheque for £3,300 to a representative of Alzheimers Research UK last Thursday at Jaffs in Dunecht.

On March 24 the charity group held a murder mystery evening in Dunecht Village Hall.

The Cluny Players performed their show ‘Strictly Murder’ to a sellout 80 guests, who as well as enjoying the show, were served a four course meal by Jaffs and generously bought raffles and bid for the auction lots.

The lots ranged from cherry trees donated by Springhill Nurseries at Dunecht to a golf prize at Dalmahoy which was donated by Scottish Fuels.

A number of other local businesses and individuals supported the cause by donating various prizes.

Alzheimer’s Research is the UK’s leading dementia research charity. They fund world-class, pioneering scientists at leading universities to find preventions, treatments and a cure for dementia.
