A Banchory couple recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
James and Evelyn Forbes marked the blue sapphire occasion with a family get-together with a 1950s theme.
James, 93, and Evelyn, 91, were married at Banchory East Manse, which is now Celtic Cross House in Station Road.
Love blossomed when they met while working at a former boxmaking factory in Banchory following World War Two.
The couple have a son and daughter, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Son James, 61, said: “It’s a remarkable milestone to reach.
“They are still active and are totally devoted to one other.
“They love to have all the family around them.”
And that was reflected when they all got together for the anniversary celebration in the Burnett Arms Hotel.
Local Councillor Karen Clark and Deputy Lord Lieutenant Fiona Burnett visited the couple on the day to pass on their congratulations.
Mr and Mrs Forbes were also delighted to receive a card from the Queen in recognition of their special occasion.
