Alex Coutts, esteemed Ghillie at Aboyne Castle has retired.
He’s pictured here with Edward Humphrey left and Marcus Humphrey on the right receiving farewell gifts.
In his 25 years as beat Ghillie, anglers have landed over 2,500 salmon and over 1,200 sea trout.
A spokesperson said: “He will be sadly missed from the river by all the anglers, ghillies and river office staff.
“Everyone will be wishing Alex and wife Gwen a happy retirement.”
