Aboyne Craft Club’s bi-annual summer exhibition takes place next month.
Entitled ‘Fabrications 2012’ it will be held in the Victory Hall, Aboyne from Saturday to Monday, July 7-9.
The club has a membership of around 60 ladies whose wide-ranging craft interests range from sewing, knitting, crochet, tapestry and embroidery to card-making, silk painting, patchwork, and felting. These and more will be on display.
The stage display will celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee, with a depiction of a 1953 Coronation street party. For this, the club are keen to hear from anyone who might be able to lend some ‘50s style clothing. It need not be authentic so long as it looks the part. Contact Ailsa Baird on (013398) 86904.
There will be a raffle with one prize being a cross stitch picture made over several years by around a dozen members. Proceeds from the raffle will be donated to local charity, The Jim Brechin Trust. The hall will be open from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday and 10am to 5pm on Monday.
