A group of young people from Alford Academy in Aberdeenshire are the first in Scotland to be awarded The Prince’s Trust Achieve certificate, after completing the youth charity’s education course which helps those struggling at school to achieve their goals.
Moira Milne, Head Teacher, said: “This is a great partnership working and delivering a programme which inspires and motivates our young people and prepares them very well with the skills and attitudes they need post school.
“We are very proud to be the first school in Scotland to accredit our young people’s achievements through the Personal Development and Employability unit.”
Councillor John Latham, said “This initiative allows young people to help themselves in taking responsibility for their own actions and therefore future employment prospects.
“All credit to achievements of the young people and of course to the incredible staff who give so much inspiration and leadership.”
The programme supports young people who are struggling at school and helps them to re-engage in education.
