Aberdeen International Youth Festival visits Upper Deeside again this summer, bringing two performances by youngsters from the Philippines and California.
The University of the Philippines Concert Chorus are visiting Aberdeen as part of their 50th anniversary tour, and will perform at the Victoria Hall, Ballater on Thursday,August 2 at 7.30pm.
The Chorus showcases Filipino artistry in music and dance to audiences worldwide and has grown to be one of the ten best university choirs in the world.
The performance showcases work including Filipino zarzuelas, contemporary Filipino pop music, Broadway musicals, musical revues, jazz, rock and grand classical operas.
The vibrancy of their music and their interpretation of rhythmic passion and movement transcends all languages and cultures.

Crathie Kirk is the venue for a concert by the Strathmore High School Wind Orchestra from California.
The group is led by Lisa Buringrud, a highly qualified musician and the principal flutist for the Kings Symphony Orchestra in Hanford, California.
Strathmore High School’s Chamber Winds Ensemble currently consists of twenty-four young musicians who are 13 – 18 years old.
The SHS Chamber Winds have received accolades from nationally known music conductors throughout the country, and numerous performance invitations within the past few years.
