A Banchory woman is continuing a fundraising drive in memory of her daughter, lost to cot death more than nine years ago.

Gillian Adams has organised a series of local shopping nights in aid of two charities - the Scottish Cot Death Trust and Group B Strep Support (GBSS).

Gillian and husband Roy’s baby, Rebecca Louise, was 11 days old when she died in July, 2008.

The mother-of-three’s first shopping fundraiser was held in Crathes last August and took in more than £650.

Further events were held in November at Banchory East Church Hall and later in the month at Kirkton of Durris Hall, both of which were well attended.

The total raised at Banchory was £350 and £400 was taken in at Kirkton of Durris Hall.

Gillian said: “I was very happy with it.

“Friends have also had Body Shop parties for me and given me their Host Shopping, which amounted to £300. The toal raised so far is £1700.”

The next fundraiser is on Thursday, March 8, at Drumoak, Durris and Crathes Bowling Club, Drumoak, from 7-9pm, featuring a variety of stalls.
