Banchory Stroke Group: ‘More Core’ for charity

A series of summer Core Strength sessions have been organised in aid of the Banchory Stroke Group, a charity which provides vital Exercise after Stroke classes for ambulatory Stroke survivors.

The first session has been organised by the Banchory Round Table, who have already kindly donated £500 to this charity.

As a thank you and another opportunity to raise awareness of the Round table and the Stroke group’s activities, a “Men on Mats!” session will take place at the Dalvenie Resource centre lounge, on Thursday July 16, 8-9pm.

The session will be run by Sue Leftwich, a Specialist Exercise Professional, who owns her own business “Fit Like” and runs the exercise for the Banchory Stroke Group. Although, the Round table will have many of their own member’s participating in this session, they have opened it up to the general public, in the hope that willing men may attend to get a taster of what Core Strength is about.

The second session, also run and organised by Sue, will take place on Wednesday 29th July, at the Dalvenie Resource centre lounge, 7-8.30pm.

This session will be a workshop for both Men and women, exploring different ways to progress the basic Core exercises and why they are so important for any sports enthusiast.

A knowledge of the basic core exercises is required prior to participation and a minimum donation of £10 is suggested per participant. 100% of monies raised will go directly to the Banchory Stroke group, to aid their weekly exercise sessions by providing specialist equipment to help maintain cardiovascular fitness, strength and balance.

Bookings are essential for both sessions - contact Sue on 01330-823074.
