Barn attracts top singer-songwriters

Two of the country’s finest singer-songwriters will be performing in separate concerts at Woodend Barn this month.

Love and Money frontman James Grant will perform an array of his classic songs from the eighties through the noughties and beyond, accompanied by harmonica ace Fraser Speirs, on Saturday (May 12) at 8pm.

2012 has been a big year for James, with the release of his own ‘Best of’ album and a new album from Love And Money, who are enjoying a successful reunion.

The following week sees a performance from Roddy Woomble on Thursday (May 17) at, 8pm. Idlewild frontman Roddy returns to the Barn with a new band, showcasing material from 2011 album The Impossible Song and Other Songs.

Roddy released his first solo album in 2006, earning rave reviews from both the folk and rock press. This was followed up with Before the Ruin, recorded with John McCusker and Kris Drever in 2008, which was toured extensively and earned yet more positive press. This tour will see Roddy play songs from all three solo albums alongside some Idlewild numbers.
