Four dozen beams are due to be delivered to the Milltimber section of the Aberdeen by-pass project this month.

Starting this weekend, 24 will arrive at the new junction overbridge between Saturday and Monday.

The remaining beams are scheduled to be delivered between Saturday, October 15, and Monday, October 17.

The trucks will leave Stracathro and travel along the A90 before joining Wellington Road (A956) and then turning left onto West Tullos Road.

They will then turn right at the Great Southern Road roundabout before crossing the River Dee and turning left onto Riverside Drive where they will join Holburn Street and then turn right onto Anderson Drive (A90).

The vehkicles will then turn left onto Great Western Road (A93) before turning right into the site at the top of Milltimber Brae.

A Transport Scotland spokesperson said: "The contractor has been working closely with Police Scotland and the local authorities to minimise any inconvenience that may be caused due to beam deliveries.

"The deliveries are due to take place during off-peak travelling periods between 9.30am and 3.30pm when the roads are quieter for safety reasons.

“Beam deliveries are integral to the project, which will have 75 principal structures, including two river crossings, one railway bridge, and over 70 culverts. A significant number of these deliveries are expected over the next six months or so.

“We would like to thank road users and the local community for their on-going support and patience during the construction work.”
