Grampian Transport Museum in Alford is set to be transported back to the 70’s and 80’s next month with the staging of the inaugural ‘Cars and Guitars’ event, a fusion of classic cars and classic rock that will take place outdoors at the venue between on August 18.
Those going to the family event will be encouraged to get into the mood of the period as Mike Ward, Curator of Grampian Transport Museum, explains.
“We’d be delighted if those attending brought along their own ‘classic’ cars, dressed in period style, brought their own picnics and generally get into the mood for a fabulous afternoon and evening of unbridled nostalgia.”
Seen here at the official launch of the event are some classic cars along with one of the acts who will be performing at the event – Estrella - whose lead singer Paul Gunn is looking forward to what should be a gig with a difference. “We’re really excited about this event and we’ll be playing tracks from our current album ‘Come Out To Play’ as well as some covers that will really get the crowd rocking!”
Among the other acts appearing at the event are Fubar, Brothers Grimm and The Willie G Trio.
Tickets, which must be purchased in advance, are available online and at Grampian Transport Museum. Under 5’s admitted free.
The event is at 3 pm and 8 pm on August 18.
