A Banchory woman is hoping to raise funds for charities by selling tickets to the Paralympic Games in London.
Tracey Duncan, of Lawson Crescent, was a winner in a scratchcard competition run by Paralympics sponsors Sainsbury’s.
However Tracey would rather sell the tickets and donate the funds raised to Homestart and Childline.
The prize includes four tickets to swimming events on August 30, one night’s accommodation at the 4 Star Hotel Novotel London Waterloo (family room), transportation to and from London (Commercial flights or train if preferred) and four gift packages including four travelcards to get around London.
Tracey says she has had confirmation from the supermarket that the tickets can be transferred to a guest but details must be confirmed online before attending.
The swimming will take place at the new Aquatics Centre, which is one of the permanent venues specially constructed for London 2012.
With a capacity of 17,500, the Aquatics Centre’s spectacular wave-like roof is 160m long and up to 80m wide – giving it a longer single span than Heathrow Terminal 5.
Full list of races on the day: Men’s 100m Backstroke, Men’s 50m Breaststroke, Men’s 100m Butterfly, Men’s 50m Freestyle, Men’s 400m Freestyle, Men’s 200m Individual Medley, Women’s 100m Backstroke, Women’s 100m Butterfly, Women’s 50m Freestyle, Women’s 400m Freestyle, Women’s 200m Individual Medley.
