Banchory-based charity Home-Start Deeside has launched its own website to celebrate its tenth birthday this month.
Home-Start Deeside will have been helping families with young children in the local communities for the past 10 years this week.
They do this through their network of volunteers, who go out to families’ homes to offer friendship, advice, and practical support.
Staff at the branch are hopeful that the new website will help make them easier to find for people searching for help.
Leah Bruce, Co-ordinator at Home-Start Deeside, said: “Although we are under the umbrella of Home-Start UK we are autonomous as a scheme, therefore our own website is more tailored to what we can offer and what we do.”
She added: “I personally feel the direction we are taking is very exciting. This is a big year for us with many exciting changes and hopefully we will be branching out to Strathdon and Alford soon after Christmas.”
They were visited last week by MSP for Aberdeenshire West Dennis Robertson, who himself has a background in social care.
He said: “I think the website will be a good way for them to try and get local support.
“What they’re doing is fantastic. They’re dedicated, engaged, and they’ve got the enthusiasm. All they are trying to do is help people get back on their feet, there’s no questions, no judgements.”
MSP Robertson added: “I will be getting back to them when I can to see if there’s some way I can help them get spread their message further.”
