Could you make a difference to older peoples’ lives?

Kincardine and Deeside Befriending are urgently needing to expand their volunteer base to meet the growing demand for befrienders for older people.

The Organisation is running a training course for volunteers on Saturday 29th August and Saturday 5th September.

Many people like Mary (pictured) are socially isolated and would love the company of a befriender for a few hours a week or fortnight.

Befrienders can visit for a coffee or chat or take someone on a short trip or share hobbies.

The Organisation needs volunteers in particular in the Deeside and Inverbervie areas and will provide training, expenses and support.

Anyone who is over 18 is welcome to apply.

Having a car to take an older person out would be an advantage. For more information and an application pack, visit or call 01569 765714.

K & D Befriending was established in 1996. Originally under the umbrella of the local Voluntary Action Network the project became independent in 2001; a Management Committee was formed and the project was given charitable status.
