The usually tranquil grounds of the National Trust for Scotland’s Crathes Castle near Banchory are being taken over by rival troops this weekend May (21 and 22).
Redcoats and Jacobites are setting up camp on the historic site with its links to Robert the Bruce and there will be risky raids, fearsome attacks and daring duels, showcasing the weaponry and tactics of 18th century warfare.
Property Manager James Henderson said: “This is set to be an action-packed and exciting Spring event, for all the family. We’ve got a packed programme lined up at Crathes, so we’re hoping that our 2016 season is going to be busier than ever.”
The event runs from 11am until 5pm on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May.
Tickets cost £3 for adults and £1 for children – buy online at www.nts.org.uk/events or call 01330 844525.
