Police have appealed for witnesses following a series of thefts in Aberdeenshire.

A number of garages in the Durris and Stonehaven areas were entered and property stolen in the early hours of Friday, November 4. Several had been left unlocked.

Officers are also investigating a break-in at a remote property between 6.10am and 6.30pm on Monday, November 7. Personal items worth a mid four-figure sum were stolen.

Sgt Rod Smith said: “We are appealing to anyone who has seen anything suspicious around the times stated to get in touch with us.

“In addition we would urge homeowners to remain vigilant and secure their property when possible and install suitable security for the area.

“In order to identify stolen property, we would ask homeowners to mark their property and take photographs of larger/more expensive items.

“Some of the items stolen include mountain bikes. We would also urge people to contact police if they are offered items for sale at prices which seem too good to be true.”

Anyone who has information or saw anything suspicious should contact Police Scotland on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
