Police have appealed for witnesses after a shop in the centre of Banchory was broken into and a quantity of clothing stolen.

The incident happened at Out There in the Bridge of Dee car park around 2.30am today (Thursday).

Officers are also seeking witnesses after two vehicles were stolen overnight from the Strachan area.

They are a silver Citroen C5 (KY10 EJN) and a cream Mini with a black roof (SW59 EZP).

Marr Area Inspector Martin Burgess said: “Inquiries are ongoing into this incident and we are appealing to anyone who may have information to come forward.

“We are keeping an open mind as to whether the break-in and the theft of the cars are linked.

“Additional patrols will be carried out in the area but we are urging residents to ensure they keep their homes and cars locked and items of value stored out of sight.

“I would urge any member of the public who believes they have information relating to these crimes to contact Police Scotland on 101, or alternatively they can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
