Deadline for grant applications

The next meeting of the Mary Salmond Trust will be held on Tuesday, September 25 with the closing date for receipt of applications being September 22.

In the year to March 31 a total of £17,567 was paid to 45 applicants.

During the year the trustees met four times and approved 44 applications for funding support. Thirty eight grants were made to community organisations or charities and six grants were made to individuals. The amount of each grant is limited to £500.

Since the trust commenced in December 2007 the total awarded has been £72,567.28 benefitting 169 applicants, an average of £429 per applicant.

Young people, schools, Scouts, Guides, Boys Brigade and community groups assisting young people and the community throughout the Trust’s area have been assisted to achieve their goals.

The Trust was established by Alex Salmond MSP to provide financial support to individuals and organisations in North east Scotland.

The Trust is named after the Mr Salmond’s late mother Mary Salmond
