Never seen 30 cellists playing together as an orchestra? Never seen pyrotechnic cello performances close up, with the opportunity to chat to the soloists?

Then the 2015 Aboyne Cello Festival is for you. This year the Festival will run from July 19 to 26, and will hold public concerts in Banchory, Finzean, Aboyne and Tarland.

Beginning with a handful of cellists 10 years ago, the Festival has now become the biggest of its kind in Scotland, bringing over 30 cellists together from the UK and beyond, the majority aged between 7 and 25. The Festival has at its heart three cellists with an international reputation as teachers and soloists - James Halsey (the Director), Alice Neary and Philip Higham.
