Staff and pupils at Drumoak Primary School were busy raising funds last week.
The school was almost deserted as everyone embarked on an 8km walk to Crathes Castle last Thursday and raised around £800.
Around thirty parents joined in on the walk and everyone who took part was given a certificate as a reward.
Half of the money raised will be given to Japanese schools which were affected by the earthquake earlier in the year and the other half will be used by Drumoak School to improve facilities.
The school has also been collecting clothes from around the Drumoak community, which have been put into bags and sent off as part of the Bag2School scheme.
Drumoak School’s Waste Management and Bird Friendly committees are hoping to buy a new compost tumbler and bird huts with some of the funds.
The school were also holding a Book Fair last week (above left).
