Local schools get involved at RunBalmoral

The Strachan School entry into Run Balmoral’s Primary School Race has become a regular highlight of the school calendar and other local schools are now following their example.

The annual event is a fantastic experience for the youngsters, providing an opportunity to participate in sport for all levels and all ages.

The Parent Council , who organise the school running club, were very grateful to be the recipients of a RunBalmoral bursary last month. Pictured are Strachan’s young runners.

Finzean Primary School also enjoyed success at the races, winning the shield for most pupils taking part from a small school. There were 38 pupils, from the school’s total of 50, who ran the 1.5km Primary Schools race, in which around 850 primary pupils from across Aberdeen City and Shire took part.

Finzean pupils all ran in t-shirts designed especially for the event, by P7 pupil, Murronn Blackhall.
