Memories came flooding back recently at a reunion of former Tarland pupils.
They were in the school’s secondary department, which closed in 1966 and reverted to being a primary.
Around 65 ex-classmates from far and wide met up again in the village for a day of nostalgia organised by Isobel Gunn.
They toured the school, which led to much reminiscing, and were later treated to afternoon tea laid on by members of the senior citizens’ club.
In the evening, a social event was held in Tarland’s Commercial Hotel.
Isobel’s husband Alasdair said: “It was a great day and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.
“The secondary department closed 50 years ago so it was amazing to meet up again after all this time. There were many happy memories.”
