Banchory Tesco were joined by MP Stuart Donaldson and MSP Dennis Robertson for their part in the national foodbank collection.
Our local parliamentarians popped into the store on the Friday to lend their support. Tesco provide all of the materials and space to allow the foodbank to promote donations - vital to assure that every penny raised by the Trussle Trust goes toward helping those in crisis.
Isla Elliott, Banchory Tesco Community Champion : “We were delighted to support the foodbank appeal again and as always we put out a huge thank you to all of our customers for donating a vast amount to help local people in need.”
Fiona Graham, from the Banchory foodbank, said: “A thank you has to go to Tesco for accommodating our appeal and actively supporting our efforts.”
Next weekend they are inviting the community to meet Santa and his elves in store. From December 11-13, Santa’s grotto, courtesy of Sangster and Lee’s, will be in store.
And the following weekend will be filled with various fundraising activities for Tesco’s charity partners, not to mention that they will be presenting 12 acts of kindness over 12 day to unsuspecting customers.
Isla said: “Our 12 days of Christmas kindness will happen during the 12 days running up to Christmas. Customers will receive a card, a gift, and have their shop or turkey paid for.
“We are doing this to help ease the challenge that many face while shopping at this time of year.”
