Deeside Heritage Society has unveiled its new sign, following the publication of its Aboyne Heritage Walks booklet in July.
Both projects were undertaken to celebrate the many contributions of former president Ailsa Baird to the local community.
The society also paid tribute to Jim Cheyne’s pioneering research and writing on the village’s fascinating past.
The sign is near the entrance to Aboyne Green.
President Douglas Riach said: “We are sure the sign will be welcomed by tourists and visitors, local people of all ages and newcomers moving to the village.
“The sign and booklet are important first steps. The next project we are planning is to create a larger interactive archive of Aboyne’s heritage, one which also highlights the achievements of our young people.”
