How far would you go for charity?

Alford woman, Lyn Chalmers, made an outstanding contribution to Breast Cancer Awareness by walking 52.4 miles.

And Lyn, who owns The Barbers in Alford, raised almost £2000 for charity after taking part in the ‘Over the Moon’ Edinburgh challenge.

This is the third year she has taken part.

After 13 hours and 52.4 miles, Lyn declared she would never do it again but has already changed her mind.

She said: “The support from spectators, local residents and walkers families is amazing. Elderly ladies stand at their garden gates at 5am to offer jelly babies, water and even access to toilet facilities as a gesture of support.

‘‘Many of us have friends or relatives who have been affected by breast cancer and this is one way of providing vital financial and emotional support.”
