Alford Academy Pupil, Isabella Cook, aged 17,has been awarded the annual Gina Dallas Harper rose bowl for the highest achievement in the Grade 8 Piano exam in the North-east of Scotland.
Isabella was for many years a piano pupil of the late Mrs Elspeth Hardie of Strathdon, who died very suddenly earlier this year, sadly just before Isabella learned of her award.
Isabella is now working towards her Associated Board Diploma in Piano Performance.
She also plays violin and organ and helps to lead the Alford Academy ceilidh band and accompanies the school choir.
At the Alford Academy “Music for a Summer’s Evening” concert last Friday, Isabella was also presented with the Cynthia van Loon award for “Individual Excellence in a Musical Instrument.”
