Lions require book storage

Banchory Lions are well known in the area for their monthly booksales on the first Saturday in the month.

When the books are not being set out at the Town Hall, the Lions store some of them in a shed, owned by the Lions.

Unfortunately at the end of April, the Lion who has the shed will be moving and the Lions will no longer have access to it.

They are now asking if any booksale supporters have a spare shed, lock-up or garage, where the Lions could store their boxes of books. The storage would need to be reasonably weatherproof and accessible, as the boxes have to be loaded into cars.

Anyone with storage space that might help can go along to this Saturday’s booksale (April 7) at Banchory Town Hall, which will be running from 10am to noon, and chat to one of the Lions.

Anyone who cannot attend the booksale can contact the Lions on (01330) 822105 or e-mail:

The money raised at the booksales goes towards the annual over 70s outing and towards helping local people and organisations.

They also recycle spectacles, hearing aids, stamps and foreign coins.
