Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called to attend an incident in Drumoak, yesterday after a workman fell down a man-made hole.

The incident was reported at around 3.40pm on July 28 at the site where building work is taking place on the new Drumoak Primary school.

The hole measured one metre wide by eight metres deep.

Two appliances from Banchory and a specialist team from Aberdeen were sent to the scene.

Duncan McKenzie of SFRS said: “The team then carried out a successful line rescue and removed the man from the hole.

“Thankfully he sustained only minor injuries.

“Paramedics were also at the scene and carried out precautionary checks on the casualty.”
