The fortieth 40th annual Banchory Scout Jumble Sale is being held on Saturday (April 28) and organisers say they have already collected some exciting items.
Steve Shrive of Banchory Scouts says the summer is going to be fun for some youngsters in Banchory who come along to the sale on Saturday with their parents.
“We have a full size table tennis table and several large trampolines for sale – as well as lots of fantastic bikes in excellent condition!”
Steve says he is looking forward to another fabulous sale: “As well as giving the community an excellent opportunity to engage in a super recycling event the funds raised will help to keep the costs of running Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers at an affordable level.”
Steve added that money raised will also be used to maintain the hall facilities, which are used by many other community groups for a wide variety of purposes including birthdays, concerts and ceilidhs.
Bill Urquhart, Group Treasurer, added that all surplus clothing, bags and soft goods which are not sold will be passed on to local school groups to help them in their fundraising efforts.
“The Scouts Jumble Sale is an event that benefits the whole community, “ he said.
Evening street collections in Banchory town centre have been organised tonight (Thursday ) and on Friday (April 27).
Goods may also be dropped off at the Scout HQ in Dee Street until 9pm on Thursday evening.
However, anyone with large items, should call Steve Shrive on 01330 824349 and he will make sure the Scouts come along to collect from you.
Entrance fee to the sale is £1 for adults (50p for children) and the sale opens from 10.00 am to 2.00pm.
