A Banchory couple have reached a marital milestone.
Bill and Lily Reid celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.
Pride of place went to a card from the Queen as congratulations flooded in for the big occasion.
Bill, 82, and Lily, 87, belong to the Mearns and met on a bus on the Aberdeen to Stonehaven route when Lily was a conductress.
Daughter Audrey said: “He was smitten by her and always made sure she was on the bus so that they could meet.
“That’s how it all started.”
The couple moved to Deeside in 1964 and Bill became foreman gardener at Crathes Castle.
A family get-together was held recently in the Legion Scotland Club when local councillor Linda Clark presented them with flowers and a bottle of whisky on behalf of Aberdeenshire Council.
