Local children’s charity Charlie House has begun its search for local talent as it launches The BIG Sunday Showcase, a virtual variety show which will be screened into the homes of the North-east.
The BIG Sunday Showcase will take place on August 2 and will shine a light on the best hidden talent in the North-east.
The event is open to all ages, abilities and skills and the charity is asking for video submissions to enable them to whittle down the top talent to result in finalists being showcased during the evening event.
A judging panel will review all of the submissions and draw up a shortlist of 12 finalists, all of whom will be showcased on the night. It is then down to the viewing public to vote via an online poll during the evening, hosted by Mr Steven J Innes, to decide on the overall winner who will walk away with The BIG Sunday Showcase trophy and a whole host of prizes including a radio station visit to Original 106FM, restaurant vouchers and other goodies.
People interested in entering the contest are being asked to submit a short video clip, no longer than five minutes showcasing their talent. Video clips should be sent to: [email protected] accompanied with an application form which can be downloaded from the events section of their website: www.charliehouse.org.uk/events/the-big-sunday-showcase/
Susan Crighton, Director of Fundraising for Charlie House, told the Piper: “We just wanted to bring some fun into everyone’s homes during what has been a really challenging time for everyone during this pandemic.”
Applications close on Monda, July 20 at midnight.
