Multi-million investment proposals for Royal Deeside

Aberdeenshire based housing developer, Kirkwood Homes Ltd, in conjunction with Inchmarlo Farms Ltd, has submitted a Planning Application to Aberdeenshire Council which would see 95 new family homes (30 of which will be affordable) delivered in Inchmarlo.

The plans also include proposals for an exciting new £30million 5-Star Hotel, Lodges and Leisure Facility, all of which were previously approved by Aberdeenshire Council in 2011.

If approved, the overall development would see investment of £62million come to Royal Deeside as well as the creation of 80 permanent jobs as part of the Hotel, Lodges and Leisure Facility.

Funding from the housing, if approved, would importantly allow Inchmarlo Farms Ltd to continue progressing with the development of their hotel and associated facilities.

Colin Crombie, Managing Director at Kirkwood Homes Ltd, said: “I would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who provided feedback during our Public Consultation. That feedback, alongside the environmental and technical studies has importantly helped shape the final application. We are pleased to be bringing forward proposals for new homes in the area, but importantly one that includes 30 new affordable homes as it is vitally important that all those who wish to live in Royal Deeside have an opportunity to do so.”

Colin Wilson of Inchmarlo Farms Ltd said: “From the outset it has been our vision to create a sustainable new tourism development that fully respects and complements the unique quality of Royal Deeside and offers quality job prospects for the local community. We have already invested a significant amount to get to this stage and the partnership we have with Kirkwood Homes and the new Hotel operator provides a fantastic opportunity for that vision to be realised. Should the application be approved, Royal Deeside would be home to ‘’The Lucullan’’, a new £30million 5-star development that would not only sit at the heart of only the wider proposals, but as a key tourism destination in Aberdeenshire.”

Should the application be approved later this year, Kirkwood Homes would look to be on site building new homes in July/August of this year, with development on the hotel and leisure facility commencing this year too.
