Deeside’s new online community radio station successfully broadcast its first live show on Saturday with a three-hour extravaganza of music and chat.

In a busy, funny and entertaining programme on River Dee Radio, presenters Richard Edgar and Jane Grieve provided a varied programme of classic tracks from across the decades.

Amongst the musical nostalgia, they interviewed more than a dozen local people, all of whom are preparing to present their own programmes in the near future.

In addition to more general programmes, there will be shows specialising in jazz, rock, swing, Scottish and country music.

With a strong emphasis on local events, River Dee Radio is set to be a useful place for the exchange of local information, and at the same time listeners can enjoy good music.

A spokesperson said: “We were thrilled with the reaction to our first live show.

“We had far more listeners than we could have hoped for, and the comments afterwards were enormously enthusiastic.

“Word is already spreading that River Dee Radio is fantastic fun. We can’t wait to produce more live shows.”

Over the next few weeks the station will produce a regular Saturday morning show from 10am. Already streaming music on a daily basis, listeners can find the station via the TuneIn website and entering River Dee Radio.
