Scottish Conservatives have selected their candidate in the Banchory and Mid Deeside ward for next year’s Aberdeenshire Council elections.
Ann Ross was chosen by a unanimous vote at a well-attended meeting of Aberdeenshire Conservative and Unionist Association.
She has lived in the North-east since she was 17, and at Crathes for 26 years, bringing up her family there.
The Tory hopeful has served for 11 years as a community councillor with the Crathes, Drumoak and Durris Community Council and cares passionately about the local area.
Current Councillor for Banchory and Mid Deeside, Jill Webster, who is standing down next May, welcomed the selection.
She said: “I have seen Ann in action as a community councillor dealing with local issues and I know she is not only totally committed and works really hard but also gets results.
“She has that perfect balance of life’s experience, having worked in both the oil industry and also as a nurse in the NHS, and local knowledge, having lived in the Banchory and Mid Deeside ward most of her life.”
