Pupils are going (tea) potty at Larks Gallery

During April, Larks Gallery in Ballater held a teapot exhibition.

On display were a huge variety of teapots - from the very functional to those with plenty of artistic licence.

There were all shapes and sizes, colours and contours! For some potters it was their first time at making a teapot and for one special person, their first time at designing a teapot.

In conjunction with the exhibition, they held a competition with Ballater Primary School.

They asked the children to draw a design for a teapot and the lucky winner’s design was then transformed into a real teapot by potter and ceramicist Emma Pattullo, from Platform 22 in Torphins.

Much imagination and talent was shown from the pupils of Ballater School, and the gallery thanked them for giving them, and the many other visitors to Larks Gallery, great pleasure at browsing through their designs.

The winning design was drawn by Sophie Preston, of Ballater.

The gallery said it was fabulous design and resulted in a teapot that received a lot of praise from many people. Congratulations went to Sophie!
