Police performance figures in Aberdeenshire show that the number of people killed or seriously injured on the region’s roads has dropped by 20.4%.
The figures have been presented to the Local Authority for the April to September period of 2015, compared to the same period last year. Serious assaults continued to fall by 16.7%, with detections rising to 92.5%. While the number of common assaults rose slightly by 1.7%, the detection rate for such incidents increased by 5.7%.
Chief Superintendent Campbell Thomson said: “Every officer throughout Aberdeenshire is dedicated to keeping Aberdeenshire a safe place to live and work and we will continue to focus our resources on the issues that matter most to our communities.”
