Singer-songwriter set for anniversary celebrations

The acclaimed singer-songwriter Alasdair Roberts will perform with his trio at Woodend Barn on Sunday 30 September, 8pm, as part of the Banchory venue’s 20th birthday weekend celebrations.

The Scottish singer, guitarist, interpreter of the traditional as well as writer of new songs has worked with a diverse range of artists including Will Oldham (Bonnie Prince Billy) and John McCusker.

His mesmerising, lyrical exploration of folk music has won him high praise and his albums have consistently gathered five star reviews from critics.

Alasdair has also worked on several film soundtracks including Young Adam; Angus McPhee, Weaver of Grass; and Burke and Hare. Throughout his musical career, he has toured widely in the UK, Europe, North America and Australia in both solo and band configurations.
