Society’s 20th anniversary

Over the last two years, Banchory Heritage Society has had success with its format of ‘An evening with..’ It has enabled their guest speakers to speak about their varied interests rather than have to stick rigidly to one particular topic.

This month’s speaker is Stewart Wilson, local historian and author of several books about aspects of Banchory and Deeside life. Stewart was also a former headmaster and has researched the area’s educational history.

The meeting will be on Monday, March 26, in the St Ternan Episcopal Hall. Doors open at 7.30pm and the evening will start at 7.45pm. Appropriately, as Stewart was one of the original members of the Heritage Society, this month is the 20th anniversary of the founding of the society.

This will be the last meeting of this season, the 2012/2013 programme will begin in October.
