How would you like to try a fun sport the whole family can enjoy together? Do you and your family have a sense of adventure and enjoy spending time outdoors in some of Deeside’s most beautiful locations?
Orienteering is an exciting outdoor adventure sport which involves navigating around a course using a detailed map and sometimes a compass. The aim is to navigate between control points and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time. You can walk, jog or run round the course and progress at your own pace. Orienteering brings a unique sense of achievement and an opportunity to learn new skills combined with fresh air and exercise.
Mar Orienteering Club are running a block of introductory orienteering sessions aimed at family participation with full coaching provided.
The sessions are suitable for families with at least one child P5 or older. Both juniors and adults can participate at the same time, at levels appropriate to their age and experience.
These sessions begin on 3 April at Bell Wood, Aboyne with further sessions at Balnagowan, Crathes Castle and Knockburn Loch. Full details can be found on our website firstname.lastname@example.org. Register now to experience the mental and physical challenge of orienteering!
