Banchory is gearing up for its 19th Summer Marquee Ball.
It has been billed as Deeside’s top social event and has raised more than £460,000 for local charities.
The beneficiary this year will be Banchory Sports Village and organisers Logan Sangster and Dawn Law have confirmed the ball, which is on Saturday, June 18, at Raemoir House Hotel, is once again a sell-out.
Logan said: “In the current economical climate, we rely heavily on local support for our event, and as the beneficiary this year is the Banchory Sports Village, it is essential that we get the backing from local businesses and individuals.
“The Banchory swimming pool has been on the cards for more than 20 years, and this is the nearest they have come to fruition.
“They are currently sitting with just under the £600,000 mark through fund-raising. The project is due to start in 2017.”
The evening takes the form of arrival drinks on the lawn, followed by a three-course dinner.
There is a grand raffle, with the top prize being a week in the Algarve. A fine auction will also take place - and organisers are appealing for items to be donated.
Logan added: “Some of the North-east’s leading oil companies are attending this year, with Amec, Wood Group, Shell and Petrofac to name a few and it is nice to see more than 360 local guests all dressed up for Deeside’s top social event. “We have had two tables of the Banchory Group Practice join us for the last 19 years, so it is good to have the locals behind us.”
