A Tarland student is celebrating achieving her Duke of Edinburgh gold award.
Imogen Appleton, 19, received the honour at the largest-ever gathering of award winners at Buckingham Palace recently.
Imogen was particularly proud when the Duchess of Wessex spent time chatting to her group.
The former Tarland Primary School pupil is attending Liverpool John Moores University where her course is childhood and family studies.
She said: “I’m delighted to have achieved the gold award. There was a lot of hard work involved but it’s been so worthwhile.”
Imogen is setting her sights on the Duke of Edinburgh diamond challenge which will involve sky diving.
