Members of the Scottish Country Dance Club in Banchory were very pleased to be able to donate £265 to local facility, the Scolty Centre.
The funds were raised thanks to raffles held by the two dances held by the Club in the past year.
Alison Thomson, manager of the Scolty Centre, received the cheque from the dancers, and explained the work of the centre and how the money would be used.
The Scolty Centre is a valuable local facility providing day care for adults with physical or learning disabilities.
The Centre offers a wide range of leisure activities as well as support, education and employment skills training.
A free open taster evening to try your hand at Scottish Country Dancing is set to take place in Banchory Town Hall on Wednesday September 3 at 7:30pm.
The open evening will introduce newcomers to some easy dances, and will promote Scottish Country Dancing as a fun and sociable way to exercise.
No partner is required for the event and it will be a great opportunity to meet new people.
