A Torphins man is going the extra mile to raise vital funds for Scotland’s Health Charity, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS).
Ian MacIntosh, who is taking part in this year’s Virgin London Marathon, has already gone all out by raising an incredible £2,500 as a result of taking part in the Great Scottish Run Half Marathon and a hosting a Dinner Dance.
Speaking of his motivation, Ian said, “Over the years I have watched and lost my Granny Underwood, recently my wife Donna’s Granda Brown.
“I am now watching my Dad as he recovers from having a stroke.”
London will be the 4th charity Marathon for the 39 year old, an Account Manager with DF Communications in Aberdeen.
He had completed the Edinburgh, Loch Ness and Dublin versions in recent years for well-known charities.
Ian add’s “Running a Marathon is one of the most challenging, rewarding and fantastic experiences you will get and knowing I am raising funds for such a great cause will make it even more worthwhile.
“The event is very close to my heart and will be an emotional journey throughout the build-up and on the day itself.”
Mr MacIntosh, is supported as always by wife Donna and their three children- Cameron, Fraser and Nairne.
