A local Councillor’s wife has been hospitalised following a road traffic accident on the B9119 Westhill to Midmar road.

Natalia Argyle. partner of Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside councillor Peter Argyle, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI) by police escort on Friday (November 22) following the two vehicle accident near Garlogie.

Mrs Argyle was driving a green Peugeot 206 westbound and collided with a white tipper lorry heading east at around 12.55 pm on the day.

Two fire crews were sent from North Anderson Drive, Aberdeen but were not required.

Poice worked into the night taking evidence from the scene.

44 year old Mrs Argyle is believed to be in a coma while the 51 year old male driver of the lorry was uninjured.

The B9119 was closed for approximately seven hours whilst collision investigators carried out a detailed examination of the scene.

The Argyles live in Torphins and have a young son together.

Liberal Democrat Peter has represented Deeside since 1999 when he was elected as member for the ward of Aboyne and Glen Tanar.

Along with his role as a councillor he is also head of Aberdeenshire’s Council infrastructure services committee and was, in June, appointed to lead North- east transport body Nestrans.

Other Aberdeenshire Councillors have let it be known that their thoughts are with Mr and Mrs Argyle.
